The Secretary of the Yarewa Zongo branch of the New Patriotic Party [NPP] at Agona Swedru in the Central Region, Manaf Gibrine has appealed to Ghanaians to exercise restraint and not rush into putting pressure on the newly elected president elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, call on him to live up to his promise of transforming the country’s economy by creating job opportunities for the teeming unemployed youth.
He said as the elected president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo is bent to live up to his campaign promises, but stressed that he would first of all need time to salvage what he described as the country’s ailing economy to enable him fulfill his promises.
Though Mr. Gibrine Manaf admitted that Ghanaians are justified to remind Nana Akuffo-Addo of his campaign promises, he however complained about the pressure being mounted on the president by some civil society groups and individuals, saying they are too harsh and need to be toned tone down.
According to him, if things continue this way, it may distract the president from his vision of making the country a better place for all to live in.
