The people of Gomoa Mangoase, a farming community in the Gomoa Central District in the Central Region have appealed to the District Assembly to construct a permanent market place in the town to enable them sell their farm products after harvest.
The Chairman of the Unit Committee of the town, Mr. Philip Danso who briefed the media of the problems confronting the town mentioned bad road network, bad nature of the only public place of convenience and absence of a market place as the three major problems.
He however mentioned the market as their major concern as the women have to transport their products as far as Agona Swedru to sell only on market days.
According to the Unit Committee Chairman, this is affecting them as most of their products get rotten before they are transported to the market at Swedru, thereby contributing to the existing poverty of the people.
