Taxi and Trotro Drivers in the country have Endorse President John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), flagbearer for the 2016 election for a second term.
According to Taxi and Trotro Drivers for JM, they are endorsing President John Dramani Mahama because he has constructed modern, durable and better roads across the length and breadth of the country which has ensured the free movement of goods and services, and widened access to markets.
Again, In 2007, the flagbearer of the NPP, Akuffo Addo as Attorney General set up a motor court and imposed excessive fines on drivers with others serving prison terms.
Mr. Frank Djaba, the spokesperson for Taxi and Trotro Drivers for JM announced their endorsement for President John Dramani Mahama at a press conference held here in Accra.
‘The Taxi and Trotro Drivers for JM recognizes and is appreciative of the untiring efforts President John Dramani Mahama has exerted in bringing socio-economic development to both , Taxi and Trotro Drivers and Ghana as a whole’ Mr. Frank Djaba, the spokesperson said.
Mr. Frank Djaba, the spokesperson further said ‘We belief that President John Dramani Mahama’s optimal leadership skills that’s a team player, a good listener, a role model and also a unifier will enhance the cordial relationship of the top hierarchy of our union and the grass roots which will translate into promoting our activities for the years ahead.
Mr. Frank Djaba, the spokesperson explained that the numerous road infrastructure in the country today means drivers will no longer incur cost in buying spare parts.
‘The rate at which drivers visit their mechanic or service station is reduced. Traffic is also reduced’ he added.
Taking turn to address the press, Mr. Livingston Awagah the organizer for the group said in view of these achievements, efforts and other credible leadership qualities exhibited by President John Dramani Mahama, they the members of Taxi and Trotro Drivers, as well as their sub-branches, can no longer show indifference in support of his quest to retain the presidency.
To this end, Mr. Livingston Awagah urged his comrades not to sit on the fence, but to put their shoulders to the wheel to speed up the party’s campaign by helping the government to succeed.
‘Please let’s bury our differences so that with a united front we can develop the NDC and push the government to deliver’ he appealed.
On their part, the coordinators Mr. Atsu soku and Mr. Emmanuel erzuceh both said President John Dramani Mahama is seen by constituency and branch executives, supporters, sympathizers and activists as a team-player and a unifier who respects divergent views, hates factionalism, selfless, hard working and above all humble.
