TOR to process 18 million barrels of crude in 2017

The outgoing Managing Director Bost and Tor, Kwame Awuah Darko says the Tema Oil Refinery will from next year refine about 16 million to 18 million barrels of crude oil.

This he said is due to the expanded capacity the refinery now has.

He said the refinery will from next year be in a place that will make it much stronger by virtue of the foundations that have been laid

He made the remarks at the end of year thanksgiving ceremony at the Tema Oil Refinery in Tema.

The ceremony which is an annual one is aimed at thanking God for how far the refinery has come and pray for God’s guidance for the year ahead.

Addressing the workers in what he said is his last address to the workers of both Tor and Bost, Mr Awuah Darko said the refinery has been put in a place that is about to be propelled into a higher and stronger height by virtue of the foundations that have been put in place.

“I am hopeful that the refinery will be in a place that will propel it to a much higher and stronger by virtue of the foundation that has been built. What I pray and urge all of is that, such foundations are not allowed to be whittled away because if they are whittled away, it becomes very difficult to build upon from where we are”

He added that ” I will be the first person to say that the concrete we have cast here is not yet hardened so there is still a lot of fragility and a lot of work to be done so we must be careful”

Mr Awuah Darko noted that his address was the very last address he was having with the staff as their MD and called on them to adjust themselves and support the wind of change that has come.

“I am sure that this will be the last time I address you as your Managing Director and change has come and when change comes we must all support that change and work accordingly.  This is the beauty and the strength of the republic of Ghana.”

He called on the workers to give maximum support and commitment as well as dedicated loyalty to the new incoming M.D. to ensure whoever is brought performs his duties efficiently in the interest of mother Ghana.

“Sometime later, you will have the pleasure of being introduced to a new leader and when that time comes, I want to beg of all of you to give that leader the fullest support, commitment and dedicated loyalty above what you have given me because that is what will make this company and the country great and strong”
